Spring Cleaning

Springtime usually signals warmer days and more time outdoors, except for this year. Instead, we find ourselves in the midst of a pandemic, with everyone doing their part to stop or slow the spread of the coronavirus by social distancing and staying at home.

This year, spring cleaning becomes an essential task. People are diligently washing, cleaning, dusting and disinfecting their homes and businesses alike to minimize the risk of transmission because many reliable sources state that the virus that causes COVID-19 can live for up to 72 hours on hard, shiny surfaces like glass, plastic, stainless steel and plastic and up to 24 hours on cardboard, paper and fabrics.

While the coronavirus is known to spread mostly through respiratory droplets, the fact that it can remain on surfaces for any amount of time is a reminder of the importance of not just washing your hands thoroughly, but also taking the time to clean high-touch surfaces such as door handles, remote controls, phone screens and keyboards in your home or business.
